Version and patches

In order to play Heroes on the Zone, you must have a version compatible with your opponent.  Most people have upgraded their versions, if you do not upgrade, you will not be able to play with most other players.  First you must determine which game you have.  

To check your version, locate your heroes3.exe file (It should be located in your Program Files folder, inside the 3DO folder), right click it, choose PROPERTIES to get to VERSION.  There are several "versions" of Heroes. They are:

Restoration of Erathia.  The updated version is 1.4.  If you have version 1.0, use this patch to upgrade..  If you have version 1.1, use this patch to upgrade.  If you have 1.2, use this patch to upgrade.

Armageddon's Blade.  Expansion.   Updated version is 2.2.  If you have version 2.0, use this patch to upgrade.  If you have version 2.1, use this patch to upgrade.

Shadow of Death.  Expansion.  Updated version is 3.2.  If you have version 3.0, use this patch to upgrade.  If you have version 3.1, use this patch to upgrade.

Heroes Complete.  A package of ROE, AB, and SOD.  The ONLY version is 4.0.  This is the only version of the game that does not need to be upgraded before you can play with the other players at the zone.

You may also use this program which will determine which version you have, and install the proper patch.  The program should be downloaded into the Heroes folder on your harddrive, and fun from there.
