Heroes III Tournaments, and why you should join one.

The primary reason for joining tournaments is to find opponents, especially opponents who will finish games.

Almost all of the players at the Zone are in one tournament or another.  Some join for glory and honor, but the best reason to join one is this:  If your opponent is in a tournament, they will be motivated to FINISH THE GAME.   Non tournament players tend to disappear when a game is half finished, never to be seen again.  In fact, if a player isn't in a tournament, it is most likely that they are a newbie and won't give you the same honorable game that regulars will.  And regular players won't touch "non tournament" players, for the same reason.  No guarantees either way, but you'll increase your odds of enjoying the time you spend if you join a tournament.

Joining a tournament does not generally mean that you must play specific players at specific times, you are free to play as much or as little as you wish, against anybody that you wish, it just increases your options.
